About Online Wordcount

This is a simple, free online utility for getting word counts for various file types. Its main weakness is that it doesn't handle MS Office files; its strengths are that it doesn't require a download, and it can be used from any platform with a web browser. Enjoy!

Privacy/confidentiality

This utility doesn't store any of the files you upload, and performs no processing other than the word count. No other data is saved, analyzed, or transmitted. Files are uploaded to a temporary directory for processing and then deleted.
